The aim of the National Oesophago-Gastric Cancer Audit (NOGCA) is to measure the quality and outcomes of care for people diagnosed with oesophageal or gastric (OG) cancer in NHS hospitals in England and Wales, and to support OG cancer services to improve the quality of the care that people receive.
The audit sets out to achieve this by:
- identifying quality improvement goals and indicators
- producing regular, timely information on the care received by people with OG cancer
- highlighting regional variations in care, and providing organisation-level data for providers on their practice and outcomes
- developing interventions and providing resources to support quality improvement
The NOGCA is supported by its Clinical Reference Group and Patient and Public Involvement Forum.
