Roles

At NATCAN, our work is driven by multidisciplinary teams committed to improving cancer care through national audits and quality improvement initiatives. The roles within our organisation are clinicians, academics, operations, in addition to other key stakeholder groups. Each team member plays a vital part in delivering our reports and various other outputs, to support improvement in cancer care across England and Wales.

We work collaboratively across our audits, drawing on the expertise of:

  • Clinical Leads and Fellows – Providing specialist knowledge and clinical leadership to ensure our audits are clinically relevant and impactful.
  • Methodologists and Statisticians – Designing robust methodologies and ensuring the scientific integrity of our work.
  • Data Scientists – Interrogating complex datasets to generate meaningful insights that inform policy and practice.
  • Project Managers and Coordinators – Overseeing the delivery of audits, managing timelines, and ensuring smooth communication across teams and stakeholders.
  • Patient and Public Involvement (PPI) Representatives – Ensuring that the patient voice is at the centre of everything we do.
  • Clinical Reference Groups (CRGs) – Bringing together multidisciplinary experts to guide the direction of each audit, review outputs, and ensure clinical relevance and quality.

Our staff organogram provides a visual overview of how these roles connect across the ten different audits.
