NAoMe Quality Improvement Plan 2024
The NAoMe Quality Improvement Plan describes the approach taken across the NATCAN cancer audits to develop improvement goals and performance indicators / metrics, aiming for these to be measurable, actionable and improvable.
The NAoMe Quality Improvement goals, developed following a thorough scoping exercise in 2023 and in consultation with stakeholders in the Audit Advisory Committee, are as follows:
- Improve the movement of patients through the care pathway.
- Reduce unwarranted variation in access and timeliness to systemic anti-cancer treatment.
- Reduce unwarranted variation in access and timeliness to palliative treatments.
- Improve access to nursing support.
- Improve and reduce variation in metastatic breast cancer outcomes.
The NAoMe has identified ten indicators / metrics to monitor progress against these five improvement goals and how they map to clinical guidelines and standards. A range of improvement methods and improvement activities to help deliver the Quality Improvement Plan are also described.
